Jenny chats 7 star housing on the eve of the Building Ministers Meeting
This morning on ABC Radio Sydney, Cassie McCullagh was chatting to Ken Morrison of the Property Council of Australia about lifting the minimum energy efficiency standard for new homes from 6 stars to 7 stars. A decision will be made at a meeting of the Building Ministers tomorrow.
Light House, along with a fabulous coalition of 100 organisations are very hopeful that the Building Ministers will give it the go ahead.
Listen to Jenny’s take below - she phoned in to share some of her building science passion! You can listen to the full interview between Cassie and Ken here starting at the 4:10 mark.
Read more background and detail in the powerful joint statement by the industry coalition.
Interestingly, Jenny did a tweet yesterday afternoon about one of our 8 star projects which triggered a huge, largely very positive, response on Twitter. See the image below - Jenny’s tweets don’t usually get so many likes and retweets.
Jenny took the opportunity to retweet and tag the building ministers to show them that there was broad support among the public too!
